Frequently asked questions
Helpful answers for a more relaxed care plan.
From your first meet and greet to booking changes, here’s what to expect when you work with Shannon’s Trusted Pet Sitting.
Services & getting started
What kinds of pet care do you offer?
Shannon offers weekday/weekend dog walking, drop-in visits, and house sitting for dogs and cats. Each visit follows the routine and comfort details you share at your meet and greet. House-sitting is not overnight! However, Shannon will come any hours overnight for dogs or cats that need meds or special attention!
Do new clients need a meet and greet?
Yes. New households begin with a meet and greet before recurring or overnight care is confirmed. It is the best time to review routines, home access, feeding instructions, and anything that helps your pet feel secure. Also meeting face to face and making sure your pet(s) know who will be taking care of them!
What areas do you serve?
Chatham, Illinois is the core service area. Nearby visits are reviewed before booking based on travel time, location, and your pet’s care needs. Springfield area and Auburn are also areas of service.
Scheduling & deposits
When can I schedule a visit?
Weekday/weekend dog walks and drop-in visits are offered when needed. However, requests must be approved first. Requests are accepted up to two weeks ahead and need at least 48 hours’ notice. Sometimes Shannon will approve shorter notices or emergent requests.
Is my request automatically confirmed?
No. A request is not a confirmed appointment until Shannon reviews and approves the care details. This helps make sure the timing and service are the right fit for your pet.
Why is there a $50 deposit?
A $50 deposit reserves approved care and is applied to your final service total. The remaining balance is due before the first scheduled visit.
Changes & care policies
What is the cancellation policy?
Please cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours before the scheduled care window. With that notice, your deposit can be refunded or transferred once to a new available date. Cancellations LESS than 48 hours forfeit the deposit.
What if Shannon needs to cancel?
If Shannon must cancel, your deposit will be refunded or transferred to a mutually agreed available date.
Are added fees ever required?
Any travel, holiday, additional-pet, or special-care charge is shared and approved in writing before booking. You will know the full care plan before the visit is reserved.
